Windows 7 and Nero 10

Postby myklblue » Sat Jul 03, 2010 6:02 pm

Hi folks.

I have been using DVDShrink for years with pretty much no problems.

Previously I used DVDShrink on XP with Nero 6 to burn through the DVDShrink backup menu.

However, now I have a Windows 7 PC and have just installed Nero 10, but DVDShrink doesnt seem to recognise it.

I believe I am using the latest version of DVDShrink (3.2.0.15) but when I try to back up the DVD 'Burn with Nero' does not appear as an option (like it used to on XP with Nero 6) and above the list of options is a web link saying 'To enable burning, please install Nero.'

Has anyone any thoughts on why this would be, concidering I have got Nero 10 installed?

I assume it is probably because DVDShrink doesn't recognise the new version of Nero?

If this is the case, does anyone know if there are any plans for a DVDShrink update to rectify this?

Any info would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Can't you just make an ISO image of the DVD Shrinking, instead of directly burning. Then open Nero and burn ISO image. Seems simple enough, but maybe I'm mistaken.

Yes I can do this with a couple of programs I have. Burning in general is not a problem. With one of my programs I can even burn the output files produced if i use the hard disc folder option. I was just curious as to why it didnt work.

Thanks for the reply.

I have exactly the same problem as this fellow, When I use Nero (9.4.112) to burn the output files instead burn them directly with shrink (3.2.0.15), my computer (win7 ultimate) simply does not want to read the just burnt DVD but with a normal DVD player. Did I change something without knowing it, at the begining it worked normal, burnt my DVD´s and have them checked with my computer but not anymore, why is this?, I already did most of the FAQ recommend to do but still have not gotten any success making shrink to work as It used with XP and Nero 7

Which only means as written in the FAQ (no need to quote the whole section here btw) that the Nero guys changed something abritarily. So why stick with bloatware?
