I have a DVD of an episode of myself in a pilot television program that never aired that was given to me by the producers of the show for my personal use after the editing was finished. Whether by some scratch on the surface or just normal degeneration of the DVD, some parts of the disc won't read properly and I can't load it into a DVD player for some reason. I used DVD Decryptor to rip it and after leaving it running for some days it completed the task and I have my VOB files. But when I try to load them into DVD Shrink so I can re-burn them anew I get "Invalid access to memory location" and "programming error - exception occurred". Sometimes it gets through the whole process only to crash at the end. Sometimes it fails part way through, and it fails in different parts. Sometimes it just locks up. I can see where bad parts are because there's a bright green bar in the preview mode on some shots. Sometimes the preview mode works, sometimes it doesn't. It's just very inconsistent and doesn't make sense, especially since no matter how many times I try, it always fails.
I'm not sure if this DVD was encrypted but I don't think it would have been.
Any ideas?
