dvdshrink freezes when attempting to reauthor

I would really appreciate some help. I've been using dvdshrink for years on different computers. First with XP and later with Vista 64 bit. I recently purchased a new laptop with Windows 7 and am unable to use the reauthor function anymore. I have read and tried the suggestions in the forum to no avail.
1. I uninstalled and reinstalled dvdshrink several times.
2. Uninstalled Internet Explorer 9 (though I wonder if this can be completely accomplished?).
3. Tried different compatibility modes (XP, XP service packs and Vista).
4. Tried the Data Execution Prevention with dvdshrink.
Still, no luck. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I am using Windows 7 64bit on a Dell Inspiron with i7 processor with 8gb of ram. To be clear, the regular Backup function still works. It's only when I press "Reauthor" that the program completely freezes and won't respond anymore.

First time I heard about freezing being connected to reauthor mode. There's some thread about freezes when starting the program but there's no solution yet. All I can say is that I'm running Shrink on Win 7 32 and 64 bit without any problems.

I tweaked a bit the properties of the .exe, compatibility section:

>launch as administrator
>compatibility with VISTA service pack 2 (don't ask me why)
>and I had to flag the option: deactivate desktop composition (hope my translation from italian to english works...)



voilà, that made the trick for me, thanks god since I can't find a valid alternative to this jewel of a software.

That did the trick. I tried numerous combinations of compatibility modes with no luck and was contemplating uninstalling programs on the chance they might be interfering with shrink. You just saved me a lot of time and made my day.
