Are Perform Write Simulation & Verify Recorded Data useful?

Postby Stinky » Tue Aug 03, 2010 7:17 pm

Hello, friends. I use CyberLink to copy DVD images to discs. Is it wise to burn with my fastest speed, 8x, as long as I put a checkmark in the "Verify Recorded Data" box. Also, is it true that Write Simulations are a waste of time?

Cyberlink? What about their forums? Anyway, a simulation makes sense once to test if your PC can provide the continuous data stream needed to burn at a certain speed. As long as you don't use cheap media and the writer's firmware has implemented a burn strategy for that media burning at 8x is ok. But even if the verify works ok there could be playback issues when burning on high(er) speeds.
